La Lunga Notte narrates the last seven days of the 24th and 25th year of 1943 in the last chapter of the Gran Consiglio, the supreme presiding body of Benito Mussolini, which sanctified the end of the fascist regime. Particolare risalto viene dato ai tormenti di Dino Grandi, Presidente della Camera dei fasci che decise di opporsi alle scelte di Mussolini in a legitimate manner, convening the Gran Consiglio, per rimettere il Paese in the mani dei Savoia.
