Desperate to fund his critically ill daughter's treatment, Luo Xiao is coerced by gang leader Chen Yongjiang into a gruesome dismemberment case. To save himself, Luo Xiao kills Chen Yongjiang in self-defense, and then seizes his position and takes over an underground money-laundering operation. As police officer Zhang Heng digs deeper into the investigation, he uncovers traces of Luo Xiao's crimes and the tangled web of illicit capital behind them.
