Marky runs Brooker & Son, a family building and renovation business, and is passionate about maintaining the "perfect family life". But, despite the intimacy and banter of three generations of Brookers living under one roof, we see the cracks beginning to appear beneath the surface. Marky may be a successful family builder, and great at improving other people's lives, but his domestic situation is in need of a little more care and attention. Despite winning a place at Oxford, his son disappears before his first term and his daughter is suffering from an identity crisis. Marky - more than anyone - should know that you can't paper over the cracks forever.
